I’ll never use this product again nor recommend it to anybody.

Prior to purchasing this electrolysis kit, I plucked my beard and eyebrows with a pair of pliers… I had no problem dealing with that pain, since the alternative is shaving every night before going to bead to avoid rubbing my shoulders and neck raw with my stubble. Plucking would last a little over a week and left not stubble.

However, using the electrolysis device felt like being stung continuously by a bee, except with an extremely annoying BEEP noise the whole time. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. I used it on sections of my beard, mustache, between my eyebrows, and even the fine hairs on the back of one of my knuckles (just to get a broader range of results). None of it showed ANY significant results, for the numerous tries over the course of the past three months. I made sure to use the solution of water and salt, made sure the batteries weren’t low, started on a low setting for 15-20 seconds, and then try to pluck the hair. If it didn’t just slide out, I’d kick the power up to 5-7 and try to pull the hair out again. When that didn’t work, I cranked it all the way to 10 (the max setting) and SOMETIMES the hair would finally just slide out the follicle. And even then it didn’t seem to work, cause by the next week or so, I’d have another hair growing out of the tiny scar/pit in my skin. It just seemed to make the oily substance from my sebaceous glands BOIL. The only place that seemed to show progress (the fine hairs on the backs of my knuckles) are STILL PINK FROM THE SCARRING OF THREE MONTHS AGO, AND ONLY 1/10 OF THE HAIR STAYED GONE. That was just my knuckle, everywhere else is still seems just as hairy. Also, when I tried it between my eyebrows, I’d go blind for half of a second every time the device sent a pulse of electricity through me… I’m not an optometrist, but I’ll assert that there’s no way that could be good for my vision.

So to recap and sum it all up: Annoyingly loud BEEP while it feels like being stung by a bee, scars lasted more than two months, virtually no results after 3 months of usage on 4 half-square-inch areas, messed with vision when done on the eyebrows, made the oil in my skin boil, and is significantly more of a hassle for me than just pulling out my beard with rusty pliers.

Before buying this product look CLOSELY at whatever place you want to remove the hair. Now consider this: Are you willing to make a salt/water solution to wet your fingures continuously, while you take a small needle (that is thinner than a sewing needle) carefully placing it at EACH ONE individual hair, hold it there for 15 seconds while it causes you some boderline pain discomfort, then twizzer it out, and do that for every hair that you want removed. You also have to repeat the process if the hair does not easily remove, and it could grow back later on. Take a good look at that spot, because they advise not to remove more than 1sq inch of hair at a time in one area. Are you desperate? Do you have hours of time to spare? If you want to know an approximate time that this product might take you try counting the hairs you want to remove, and times that by 15 secs, and divide that by 60 to get how many minutes or divide by 120 for hours (if your like me youll need hours lol). If you can imagin yourself holding EACH hair for 15 seconds then this product is for you.

Got this as a Christmas gift and couldn’t wait to get started. Followed the instructions verbatum. Several times. Even had a friend of mine who does this at her job in a beauty sallon. Both of our opinions is that this product is a waste of money. Just save up and get treatments from a pro.

product works. requires practice and lots of patience. electrolysis is the only recognized form of permanent hair removal. Never go above 4, even with coarse thick hair. better to repeat treatment than to damage skin. hair follicle contains more than one hair often or regenerates so process is slow. also the product is the same as it has been for over 30 years. manufacturer needs to update process to make it easier and faster. perhaps, a pen that is not attached to the unit and is self-contained to allow more freedom of movement. current method very primitive. make sure you use sterile method-wash hands, clean area with alcohol and use antibiotic ointment after. scar cream good to use also. protect and heal skin. ice pack good to reduce swelling and speed healing from the heat damage. raw shea butter, vitamin E cream good moisturizers for everyday -2 times per day after the antibiotic ointment no longer needed. ladies, keep make-up clean and replace as needed. wash brushes frequently and do not use any make-up for 48 hours after treatment.

the fact that it could take forever to use this product and get results is ok for me, but it didn’t work for me at all. First of all, you have to use a salt water solution to enable the electric circuit, and this is a huge pain in the butt. maybe i wasn’t doing it right because I hardly ever felt any of the laser shock that you are supposed to feel, even on the highest setting. I felt it a few times but the hair didn’t come out effortlessly as it should when the hair follicle dies. so needless to say, I got no results, tried to use it many times, spent a lot of saltwater, and now I’m going to look for a product that actually works if I spend a little more money for it.
